A Letter to Parents

Welcome to Purple Crush Volleyball! We're Jono and Danae, and we're excited to work with your kids this Spring 2026 season.

We want to start by honoring Jenny Faurot and Rhonda Ator, who led this team last season. They stepped up for the players and built a wonderful foundation for Purple Crush - a supportive, encouraging environment where every player felt valued. We're grateful for their example and excited to build on what they started.

Our Approach

This season, we're focused on three things: effort, encouragement, and growth.

We want your child to work hard, support their teammates, and get better every week. When players do those things consistently, good things happen - they develop skills, build confidence, and yes, they give themselves a real chance to win games.

We absolutely want to win. But we also know that effort and improvement are things your child can control, while outcomes aren't always. That's why we focus on what they can control.

How We Teach This to the Kids

We've built the season around three simple principles your child can remember:

  • Try Hard - Give your best effort every time
  • Be Encouraging - Support your teammates
  • Keep Growing - Learn from every experience

In practice, this means:

  • Celebrating great effort, not just perfect execution
  • Helping players learn from mistakes instead of fearing them
  • Building a team culture where everyone supports each other
  • Teaching volleyball skills while developing character
  • Making it fun to work hard and get better

We Need Your Support

Your child will have tough games. They'll make mistakes. They'll face challenges. When that happens, we need you to reinforce what we're teaching - that trying hard matters, that supporting teammates matters, and that growth takes time.

If your child comes home frustrated after a loss, help them see what they learned. If they're discouraged by a mistake, remind them that mistakes are part of getting better. If they're comparing themselves to others, help them focus on their own growth.

We're all in this together - coaches, parents, and players. When we're aligned on these values, amazing things happen for your child.

Let's Talk

We believe in open communication. If you have questions, concerns, or ideas throughout the season, please reach out.
